TJA's work on the Manaka Coffee interiors at Polofields Crossing has been recognised at the recent PIA awards.The judging panel praised the attention to detail and skillful execution of the flagship store:

"Considered design and attention to detail differentiates the Manaka Coffee Flagship Store from the other retail outlets in the Polofelds Crossing Shopping centre in the Waterfall precinct. In the design of the interior, the architects successfully managed to interpret and complement the handmade process of coffee roasting by carefully choosing natural materials.

Patrons are welcomed to an intimate warm space adorned with selected materials such as polished brass, natural wood and leather. The woven timber screen on the back wall, and the timber and fabric ceiling in the shop create a warm and comfortable space. The stacking doors of the shop open up completely allowing the space to flow over to an open exterior area with a planted wall as a back-drop.

Detailing has been immaculately executed and followed through in all aspects - from the choice of furniture, to combinations and joints of materials in countertops and shelves.

A small but well-crafted project of high quality, skillfully executed with attention to detail worthy of a Commendation."
